Crazy times in MMA right now, pretty much no champion can retain their titles for an extended period of time. Just look at the stats:
Stipe - 1 defense
DC - 1 defense
Bisping - 1 defense
Woodley - 1 defense
Conor - 0 (lol)
Aldo - 0 defenses
Garbrandt - 0 defenses
Mighty Mouse - 9 defenses
Nunes - 1 defense
Joanna - 4 defenses

Could this be attributed to USADA or is it just harder for dominant champs to establish themselves these days?

Didn't Woodley defend against Wonderboy TWICE?

DC also defended against Gus & Anderson?

Woodley has 2 defense another fail thread GTFO and Wasteland this shit

Jones and Aldo are still dominant champions, in a certain way...

Aldo lost to a guy who will never make 145 again

Jones lost to himself

I think it's harder to stay dominant now b/c there is more money and therefore more talent coming into MMA.

I also believe it's just some odd coincidences and scenarios that happened. Some divisions are in a bit of changing of the guard situations. Some divisions (HW, LW) have never had very long reigning champs. LHW would have Bones as long champ but his outside the octagon shenanigans prevented it. Conor would likely be FW champ but he left the division after winning it. So ya, just weird situations all around.

Woodley defended twice. He won once. There is a distinction.

Didn't Aldo defend against Hominick, Florian, Mendes (x2), Frankie, Jung, and Lamas?

He retained, not defended. You have to defeat your opponent to do that.

When Buffer says at the beginning of the fight "reigning and defending". It means just that.

He retained twice. He won once. I think you are lost.

If you give Stipe a chance he will defend, so will Nunes. Dominic Cruz was a lesson my time champ that got game planned by Garbrandt and didn't give a fuck. Conor went and captured a bigger belt and decided to make more money than every other UFC fighter combined. The Middleweight title is a joke, it's just a show piece for entertainment bouts. Aldo, just became champ again, after defending for 10 years. JBJ should still be LHW champ.

You are just being dramatic and trying to force a point that isn't really there.

TS is obviously a Conor newb to think Aldo has zero defenses.

Because these are all new champs. They literally just won their belts. And most of them are booked for a defense coming up.
