Imagine if someone good (romero, jacare, weidman, rockhold, mousasi) was champ. Gsp would be staying as far as possible away from mw. Theyd all seriously hurt him

You have the champ of FW and LW refusing to fight anyone, so both divisions will have Interim Champs soon.
The Middleweight division is one of the most stacked in the UFC with Moose, Jacare, Romero and Rockhold....but the Champ just defended against the #13 Ranked guy, and is now defending against a retired WW.
The LHW Champ, is only the Champ because The Real Champ (who already beat him) has been out of competition because of drunk driving, coke and then PEDs.
The HW division finally has a Champ that actually defended his title, but has the charisma of a wet noodle.
Over the past 2 years the UFC has spent all their marketing money on Ronda, Conor, Paige and Sage. 3 of the 4 aren't even competitive in their divisions anymore, and the 4th refuses to even fight in MMA.

Oh, and the P4P #1 fighter in the world has no opponents to fight, and couldn't sell out a high school gymnasium.

Does beating a way past his prime Andy and capitalizing on one bad mistake by Luke, a guy who alread crushed Bisping, make Bisping a legit elite MW?

He spent as long as he did in the top 10 by beating mostly guys who weren't ranked in the top 10. And no, winning is not winning, you have to put wins into context and analyze a bit deeper than simply saying he won.

GSP was getting either a super fight or title shot. Seeing as how the only potential super fight really was Conor (and to a lesser degree, Silva), not hard to see how it ended with a title shot.
