First it was timed rounds, gloves and weight classes followed by various other rules and regulations. Then came USADA and now this fighters union thing that hasn't had much time to really do anynting yet.

What is the next big development in UFC/MMA?

Free water backstage.

Lingerie division.Book it dana! Can't wait to see heavyweights fight wearing thongs and stockings!

Less events to make way for the return of open weight tournaments!

probably stricter weight monitoring since Rogan keeps mentioning it, and he does have a point.

less interims , more tourneys , stripping more belts for failing to defend in a timely manner

MMA, Midget Class? Sorry if that was not PC....."Little People Div".

Undectectable transpecies hormone scandal

WME has already stated they want to offload the production of televised events in their next rights deal.

So if its ESPN, Fox or some other partner, we are likely to see a pretty substantial change in what we've come to know as a 'UFC event' in style and presentation. I think that will represent a big shift in the overall product.

The other obvious change is the general deprecation of seeding and merit based booking. By my count we have 3 featherweight champions and the middleweight champion just 'defended the belt' against a retiring #13 ranked opponent.

Money fights is no longer the occasional spectacle, its now shifting to become the rule. More entertainment, less sport, and that is happening rapidly.
