It was indeed sad but it takes a back seat to Penn-Edgar 3. At least against Rodriguez there were a few sparkles of offense by Penn and he didn't end the fight a bloody mess. Hell, he wanted to continue.

I don't remember Silva-Griffin as a beatdown at all. Griffin was on the offensive for most of the fight, which ended with a flash TKO. Silva-Franklin is a much better example of a beatdown.
Nunes-Rousey was a brief exchange and ended with Rousey on her feet. There are any number of fights I'd put ahead of this as far as beatdowns go.
