Remember when this fight was scrapped because the swedish commission refused to let Gus fight with a baby cut? Im still wondering to this day who would've won

Pic of the bullshit cut Gus suffered a week before the fight

Gus would have won. Too rangey, too much power. Dude outgrappled Jones too, so Moose would not be able to use his ground game.

Gus via close decision

Gus has a tendency to absorb punches with his head, so I'm confident Mousasi would have been able to land some effective shots.

Alex had a career night vs Jones, but lets not also forget that he found himself in a competitive match with one legged Shogun Hua.

Back then however, Gegard would almost never show the urge nor fire to end a fight - he was always laid back and he had a torn ACL, so I believe Gus would have won a 29-28 decision.

Current Mousasi vs the Mauler would be a great fight.

Never count out Gegard.
Gus constantly throws the same punches and Gegard has solid boxing

Remember what Gus did to Jones?

Well, there it is.

Mousassi is a better striker and grappler. Come at me Gus fanboys, he was outstruck by Jan Blacwahahhhahahha.

Gus and he better get his ass back in the cage soon. His division needs him.

Remember how it was a close match going into the 3rd round against no-knees Shogun?

Or remember how he got outstruck by Blachowics in his last fight (who isn't even a good striker).

Lets also not forget that he lost a 5 round war split decision against Cormier and almost finished him. He gave both Jones and DC the beating of their careers. Now imagine DC vs Mousasi.. Or Jones vs Mousasi.. There you have it.

Gus is just too big and strong for Moose. Too good takedowns/wrestling, too granite chin, better cardio, etc. It would look a lot like Gus vs Jan B, Gus would use his TDs and wrestling to earn a relatively boring but easy decision. If the fight stays standing it could be a war but even then its more likely Gus would tko Moose than the opposite.
