Most people have been focusing on who the biggest star is and who sells the most PPVs. That really isn't the biggest factor here... Floyd made more for the Berto fight that was a failure than Conor has on his biggest fights. Conor's problem is and will remain that most of the money his fights generate go to paying the ufcs 4 billion dollar tab and buying Dana a new Ferrari. He's got no real leverage, they have him locked up and are treating him like the company atm, meanwhile Floyd promotes himself and gets to keep that money for himself.

Sucks for Conor and mma in general. As long as the ufc has everything on lockdown the fighters will always come second.

The fighters would find the grass isn't greener without the UFC behind them.

Conor knows this and I am willing to bet it is pissing him off. Knowing that he is just an employee, and he will be replaced by another better and younger talent one of these days.

That is why he is talking equity in the company. However, like Mark Wahlberg stated, if Conor wants equity, he has to put up the money. I don't think he has that kind of money.

If he had that kind of money, why doesn't he make a push to buy himself out of the UFC, like his mentor Floyd Mayweather did.

Dude is getting RAPED financially by the UFC. Again, like Floyd stated, why is Conor taking all the risk in that cage and self-promoting himself, and Dana is still making more money than him, every time he fights.

MMA will become boxing. If the MMA promotions are not willing to pay MMA fighters like NBA, NFL and MLB players, then it is inevitable that the sport will become boxing.

It is unfair to give MMA promoters such a strangle-hold fighters potential to make money.

That Ali Act needs to take effect.

Conor isn't smart enough to manage himself.

He's relegated to $5 PPV's.......................................

The UFC's brand and fan base is what made Conor the star he is today. If Conor left the UFC tomorrow, and promoted his own MMA show with him headlining, without The UFC's marketing team and money, and without the UFC's talent to put on the card.....he is NOT selling a million PPVs. That's just how it is.

For example, if he leaves and Ben Henderson is freed up from his contract, a Conor/Henderson PPV, not promoted by The UFC, won't do that good.

But is Floyd doing horse-racing commercials?

You couldn't be more wrong. Things like the Ali act are what destroyed boxing.

If promoters do not have a real financial incentive to promote young and up coming fighters, stars do not get created. There's a reason there are no stars left in boxing and the sport is dying.

The owner of a company has a right to make as much profit as he can because he's the one that put up the equity and took a risk. If Conor wants to promote his own fights he can finish out the contract that he SIGNED, pay a $100 dollars to get a promoters license, and risk his own money.

It's called capitalism. The market system. Supply and demand.

The grass will be greener. Stop buying into UFC propaganda. If the grass isn't greener, that means the sport just doesn't have a strong market value.

We thank the UFC for popularizing the sport, but now that the sport has some mainstream presence, it needs another push i.e. the athletes need to get paid more money to attract better talent into the sport.

If the UFC is not willing to be the company that makes that push, then something needs to happen and it is already happening.

The UFC has to decide to pay these fighters like the elite athletes they are. You can't control fighters like Roger Goodell controls NFL players, while at the same time paying them peanuts.

If you want to be a league, pay the fighters like top level league players get paid. If you don't do so, then give them the opportunity to bring in sponsors and to use their own images to make some money.

I don't see the current UFC model lasting long, if MMA continues to become popular.

Dana is a legally operating crook. A smart one at that.

U really don't know what you're talking about. Start paying a lot? Stars make millions. Mid level guys can't draw and without a major promotion behind them they'll find themselves fighting at clubs for a lot less. Good luck getting sponsors for a club fight.

The athletes are just fine. They're not sourcing talent away from the NFL.

To be fair, as head of NSAC they also banned MMA in the first place.... before buying it (UFC).

Brilliant. Devalued the product, bought it when its value hit a rock bottom, and sculpted it into a work of art.

Sicily bless.

Fook the WME-IMG wankers!

Then why did he go there?

Why did he sign the contract, especially his most recent?

Without the UFC, pretty much nobody here would know his name.
