SIR

Nice scrap, but a little surprised why they did not just reschedule the fight with Sergio Pettis, instead of Borg.

Crude Brazilian Portuguese to English translation.

Recovered from injury, Jussier Formiga faces Ray Borg at UFC Fortaleza

Brazilian, fourth in flyweight, will face American, tenth of the list

This Friday, the UFC Fortaleza card won another fight. In the flyweight category, the Brazilian Jussier Formiga will face the American Ray Borg, both ranked in the division. The Potiguar fighter is number 4 on the list, while his next opponent is tenth. This is the seventh fight scheduled for the event, scheduled for March 11 in the capital of Ceará.

Formiga, who owns a 19-win, four-game losing streak, comes from an injury that took him out of the fight with Sergio Pettis, then set for UFC Phoenix this month. In his last fight, the Brazilian beat Dustin Ortiz at UFC Brasilia in September of last year. In Ultimate, Formiga has five wins and three losses.

Ray Borg, who has 10 wins and two career losses, also won his last fight. It was at UFC 207 in December of last year when he beat Louis Smolka and reached the fourth win in the last five fights.

UFC: Belfort x Gastelum
March 11, in Fortaleza
EVENT CARD (so far):
Middleweight: Vitor Belfort x Kelvin Gastelum
Light Heavyweight: Mauricio Rua vs. Gian Villante
Lightweight: Edson Barboza x Beneil Dariush
Lightweight: Michel Tractor vs. Josh Burkman
Women's Bantamweight: Bethe Correia x Marion Reneau
Middleweight: Garreth McLellan vs. Paulo Henrique Costa

Both specialize in the backtake...

will this contest turn into Ultimate Touch Butt Championships?..

Solid card already.

I thought Sergio Pettis would get one or the other.

Formiga is ducking Sergio obviously. As is any case where a guy pulls from a fight just to take another a month or a couple of weeks later.

Ironically John Moraga ducked Zach Makovsky for the tougher fight with Sergio...

Great fight. Hoping Borg out grapples him, always thought Formiga was way overrated.

Formiga is a true success story in the UFC and I have nothing but respect for him . Before he appeared in the org I read an article about how he lived and the struggles he went through to train . Picture a man who lived in a concrete shack and basically had to scrounge in order to just live . Now his hard work paid off after most would have given up . Double applause for him in my books
