Conor hasn't been a FW fighter for awhile. The last time he was one was 4 fights ago. Did you expect the division to go without a champion indefinitely.

The Champion will be just as legit as any other.

That is not how cleaning out a division works.

Also Ranked 1 and 2 at the time Conor left was Edgar and Aldo. Conor only beat one of them and the fight lasted 13 seconds. Which was impressive but it doesn't mean he wins a rematch. We seen quick fights in the past with the rematch being something completely different.

Not defending a belt takes away more legitimacy than sitting on it. At this rate, the FW belt was going to be on the shelf for almost two years, if what they say is true about him returning at the end of 2017.

The division was ruined because Conor refused to defend it. The FW division will sort itself out, but Conor will always be cowardly for refusing to defend his title at that weight.

Yes, a previous version of Conor beat previous versions of Max and Jose. But CURRENTLY, there's no evidence that Conor can make that weight, let alone beat either of them.

Beating a guy once doesn't guarantee that you will beat him again. Fighters adapt and improve. I don't hear Joe Duffy claiming that he's the rightful champion of 155 just because he beat Conor however many years ago.

Plus, Max on a 10 fight win streak vs. Jose (26-2) speaks for itself. Conor sitting on his ass doesn't add anymore legitimacy to the division, and this is coming from a Conor fan.
