Pedro Rizzo's leg kicks are considered some of the most powerful in MMA history. So fierce his kicks are UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture said one of the most painful injuries came after a 2001 win over Pedro Rizzo at UFC 31. “I had a swollen, black leg for three weeks after that fight and did not walk right for a while. I learned a very valuable lesson: I’ve got to learn how to kick, I’ve got to learn to check a kick. For crying out loud, I don’t want that to happen again." Before he entered MMA Rizzo had been a successful kick-boxer with a record of 31-2 (30 KO). Rizzo would go on have a nice career in MMA holding a 20-11 record and winning the IFA World Heavyweight Championship and winning the World Vale Tudo Championship in 1996.
