That division should be abolished once and for all before it's too late.

Damn, you made it sound like Mighty Mouse fought a bum or something.

Oh well...

Every champ who's had a long reign has had certain lack luster fights or eventual defeats. They are fighting at the highest level and certain styles may give them trouble. It does not diminish they're accomplishments.

Too late for what?

The flyweights are all still growing. They need to abolish the division before they hit puberty and become bantamweights.

TUF was filled completely with guys that all currently had belts in other promotions.

Were you under the impression that they all sucked ?

GSP fought a journeyman TUF winner too.

Do you want me to post the gif?

But all those other promotions are pretty bad. Those belts are kinda worthless.

He will match the record held by Anderson Silva with one more win and break it with two. This weak division is not worthy of that.

What's wrong with matching Silva's record?

Why is it not worthy?

GSP avenged his two losses

But you are complaining that DJ fought a TUF guy who isn't very good and it's making him tie with GSP for title defences. GSP would have 1 more title defence if he didn't lose his first title defence to a TUF fighter who isn't very good.

The UFC is 23 years old, records will go.
It doesn't matter.

Serra was ranked at LW & WW. He was very good, but also a huge underdog because of formerly being a LW and the layoff. Elliott fights in the weakest men's division while being one of the biggest FLW's and still loses to contenders.

In any case having a decision win is better than getting a KO loss. Not mighty mouse's fault that he cleaned out the division.

Is this a reverse psychology thread to bash GSP for losing to TUF journeyman, 'UFC reject' Matt Serra

Yet you can't compare Tim Elliott to Matt Serra just because they both were on TUF. Serra almost beat a young Penn. Lutter is closer to Elliott.

Perhaps you guys should stop buying the myth that all of the best fighters are in the UFC?
People kept talking shit about how much a "TUF guy" gave MM as if this past season was a bunch of n00bs. Who was Lando Vannata before he was whoopin on Ferguson? Bendo is 1-2 in Bellator right now, Shields and Askren...there are plenty of elite fighters not fighting in the UFC.
MM's division is just too shallow to be able to judge. I don't have a frame of reference to say how great or mediocre it is that he has defneded as many times as he has. I won't hate on it when he breaks the record, but won't be celebrating it either.
