When he fought Fedor, he made $850,000 for the fight. That is a gigantic purse even for the top guys in the UFC now. That's what legends Alistair and Hendo made for one of their fights this year in 2016!

So was Tim Sylvia the first highly paid MMA fighter? I remember back in 2006 he was getting $100k per fight, so he's been making bread in MMA for quite awhile.

Yeah but that wasn't in the UFC so it doesn't count.

And now he has a grunt for a random roofing company

850K goes quick I guess

It was rumored that Yoshida and Ogawa each got over a million to show at Pride Shockwave 2005. There were 50,000 people there to see two national heroes face off, so who knows.

Didn't Fedor get $1m for that exact fight?

Nevermind, it says he only got 300k, but Arlovski got 750k on that card as well, and $1.5m for the next card.

Matt Lindland should count his lucky stars, most boring fighter ever.

Damn, Tim made a nice purse for what? 15 seconds work?

Mark Hominick: $10,000 (includes $5,000 win bonus)

Jesus, can you imagine?

There are so many things I would not do for $10k, including stepping into the cage.

Good question. I guess because he's the only one with a salary like that that I'd heard of. And Canadian.

And yet you've probably been in a street fight at some point as most of us have for free over some absolute bullshit as a youngster.

I used to feel sorry for Tim, but how the hell is he poor after making millions and living in a dump state.

Reebok Money heehee

Might have been Couture because at his trial against the UFC, he had to produce a canceled check from the UFC for something a like $4million signing bonus. Not a purse, but definitely some big cheddar for the time.

I never understood how Arlovski made 1.5 mil but Fedor made far less. Is it a case of locker room bonuses or did Fedor just undervalue himself?
