In this classic, oft forgotten match, Frank Shamrock would face Enson Inoue at Japan Value Tudo 1997. The winner of this fight would determine who would face Kevin Jackson for the UFC newly created Light-heavyweight Championship. Frank would later on say this was the toughest fight he has ever been in. Enson Inoue was one of MMA's toughest competitors in the world at the time.

prime shamrock owned anyone under 205 lbs
smashed prime tito :)

2 hardcore icons. Nice fight.

Oh shit just watched this yesterday on a marijuana fueled trip down youtube

Ya he was a beast in his prime.

Enson Inoue is like the male version of Beth Coreia

He was a badass. Main reason why i started watching MMA regularly was from his and Titos fued.

That's why I thought frank would roll through nick Diaz much later. Boy was I wrong. It's all good though bc diaz bros are pretty cool too.

I'm curious about if Frank still trains or talks to Maurice Smith or Tsuyoshi Kohsaka.

they didnt give a shit about weight back then..... Saku would have destroyed McGregor. That was the golden era of mma until it got pussyfied with all this weightcutting / ''oh im not fighting him , too big'' bs....old school ftw.
