Surprised I didn't see this on here. Crying non stop about Conor and Jones has made this forum a strange place

Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes part ways with UFC

"Both Chuck Liddell and Matt Hughes are no longer employed by the UFC.

The legendary MMA fighters were recently among another group of employees laid off by new owners, WME-IMG, MMA Fighting has confirmed. According to multiple sources, approximately 10-15 employees were let go this week."

Legends like Hughes and Chuck, guys that didn't make millions and millions in their primes need to be taken care of by the UFC. This is bullshit.

Hughes has got some business behind barns to attend to

Do you think the Fertitta brothers should offer them jobs elsewhere in their company (casinos etc), or maybe Dana? Because the new owners certainly aren't beholden to guys like Hughes and Chuck.

Does Forrest still have one of those sweet jobs that Dana set him up with?

theres been plenty of threads about it

and who cares that they no longer have their non-jobs anymore?

The UFC is what it is today because of guys like Hughes and Chuck. So yes, the new owners are beholden and owe them. These guys put their brains and body's on the line to one day help build the UFC into a 4 billion dollar company.

That 4 billion is in the Fertitas and Dana's pocket. WME will be crawling out of that hole for a while, they aren't just going to hand out free money to every former fighter that made Zuffa guys rich. That's not their obligation.

Kind of a disrespect but it's business. They can still do movies, tv-shows, commercials, seminars, instructional DVDs, and god forbid, pro-wrestling. I assume they're already rich and so on.

You can't fire guys who don't work.

Matt Hughes and Chuck Liddell had honorary job titles but their office were always empty...

They'd make phenomenal bouncers...

he was there front row at the last event

but keyword here is "job" what did Matt and Chuck really do? they could also easily get jobs (thats if they want to actually work) for other companies ala Rich Franklin

Here comes the crybabies about Matt and Chuck's job and salary. People, you need to worry about your own f*cking finances than somebody who doesn't care about yours. Get a job and a life.

Hughes fought for fun. He lives off the land, he doesn't need money. Chuck on the other hand probably hasn't been too smart with his money

You can, and they did.
Being fired means you stop getting paid, how hard you were working is not really the important part of it

Obviously we do because they have entertained us over the years. Not everyone is a piece of shit deep down like you.

Some people would rather watch people prosper than not.

What did they actually do?

They will be fine.

But the "UFC takes care of it's veterans/legends"-reputation is officially done.

Have you ever shown up to an event. Only to find out it happened on the day before ?

Well now you have... Good call, Senor Swifty.
