The strawweight division sucks, Joanna is an overrated decision fighter, yet people criticize MM.

In Demetrius' 28 total career fights he has 14 finishes with of course a 50% finish rate.

Joanna on the other hand has 13 fights and is known as some amazing striker and has only a 38% finish rate. The important thing to note here is usually noted strikers have a high finish rate early in their careers because they face a lot of mediocre fighters but Joanna's finish rate is abysmal.

In Joanna's 7 fights in the UFC she has only 2 finishes to equate to a 28% percent finish rate. Yet she's "exciting." Note she could only knock out Jessica Penne and Carla Esparza both of which have garbage striking.

In MM's past 7 fights in the UFC he has 4 finishes double the finishes of Joanna for a 57% finish rate.

It's funny no one talks about the fact that the SW division has not developed well and is NOT a draw whatsoever. The UFC has given Joanna and the SW division opportunities to draw (I'd argue more opportunities then MM and the FLW division) and no one cares yet I see no sherdoggers complaining about how the UFC should dump the SW division.

For some reason Joanna is mostly loved on these boards and can do no wrong, no matter how cringe worthy her Ronda impersonation is how embarrassing her trash talk can be. I mean I didn't even watch this I just went to youtube and picked the first Joanna press conference video I could find because its guaranteed to be cringe worthy and a pain to watch.



Also, if anyone knows the footage that was particularly cringe worth with Joanna and Claudia where Claudia accused Joanna of being a lesbian please post it.
 
both divisions are amazing in comparison to the HW and LHW divisions

Nobody cared about that little dude, nobody cares, and nobody will. Unless he moves up and beats Cruz in a rematch, or at least TJ.

You do have a point. JJ's last few title defences have been much closer contests. Mighty mouse lost the first round and completely dominated the rest of fight.

Joanna's fight took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena which has a total capacity of 17,157. Not only that Joanna and Claudia both were on the entire season jawing at each other. We also don't know what the pricing was for the tickets. Oh and let's not forget Joanna and Claudia got to do a lot of press conference tours with Conor in the lead up to UFC 196.

Tuf 24 took place at the Palms Casino Resort and the highest number I could find as far as seating goes is 2,500. It's also important to remember that MM was NOT on TUF 24 all year jawing at someone. Instead a guy no one thought had a chance of winning especially after fighting about 4 opponents on TUF was facing off against the P4P king. To add to that there was barely any promotion for this fight. Most people didn't even know a fight was happening.

What does this have to do with Joanna being overrated?
 
A lot of people used to (and some still do) act like SW is much better than BW and Joanna would destroy any BW, but I think it's somewhat the opposite - I suspect Joanna would just be a top 5-ish fighter and not dominant at all if she was BW sized. Holly and Valentina can't rule BW with technical striking alone even though Val actually has more grappling offense than JJ, SW just doesn't have a Tate level wrestler or Nunes level power striker/all rounder (maybe Andrade can be the mini Nunes), doesn't have a Ronda level sub artist etc.

Guess they booked that small venue for a reason

Why don't you try defending the flyweight division against the cut-the-manlet wankers instead of seeking to divert attention onto the ladies.

Let's go straight to the facts.
Miesha Tate - Zero stand up skills and her grappling is not so good as you said. Raquel Pennington (striker) outgrappled Miesha and even almost choked her out, in her other previous fights she didn't look great on the ground either.
Amanda Nunez and Valentina are legit BW's, i give it to you. Ronda one dimensional as we all know. And name me any other BW worth to be atleast title contender...

That was Hungerless Near-Retirement Tate.

Ronda no more one dimensional than JJ... maybe less so since she has more offensive striking than JJ has offensive grappling.

Other BWs that are least as worthy as Letourneau and Penne who fought for the SW title - Zingano, Pena, Pennington, McMann, Davis
 
Yeah unlike MM, Joanna is one of bigger fighter in the division.
She also doesn't have single first round finish, while MM have 2 against great fighters in Benavidez and Cejudo.
 
Don't hate another division just because people hate mm

That's not how things work, your not going to convince people to all of a sudden stop hating flw and start hating straw..
