We all know Tyron has been a boxing-standup fighter lately, and tends to gas a lot, despite having huge power in his hands.

Can he beat Tyron Woodley???

With Kovalev's wrestling background, does he stand a chance at 170lb with 1 year of MMA training?

he stands a chance right now

kids out there are truly astonishing.

you are the ones who hyped this mcnugget vs floyd fantasy on social medias.
this isnt one of your little video games.

em em a striking is different I doubt pro boxer so into that sport would think about that

You're fucking kidding right, another boxing thread under "UFC Discussion"?

He would be better at 185, and I doubt he would move to MMA...he makes way more money in boxing.

Didn't he make like 3m fighting Ward? Yeah, doubt he goes for that reebok loot

well, if wants too make less money then he can try. but no.

His boxing style is good for MMA.

He has that style where the bigger sized gloves ruin his performance. His precision jabs knock people out.

Have ppl good at one sport ever gone to MMA before their primes ended.

If he got a Conor McGregor route to the title shot, sure he could possibly be WW champ.

Kovalev could be a champion in MMA with a year of cross-training, but with two years his chances are much greater.

This is it. If there is a way to hype it, he wouldnt have to fight someone like Maia, and others, first.

Kovalev is a prestigious marquee A-level athlete.

His precision is out of this world, it's simply too good. There is no way any MMA fighter could get into the proper range to initiate a grappling exchange without getting his head ripped off by a JAB delivered by Kovalev's hands of stone covered with nothing but 4oz gloves.

He killed people in his fights before and he could kill people again if you mismatch him against MMA fighters who don't have the elite boxing defense and durability to survive his power, especially with 4oz gloves.

He would lose badly. Its not about knowing how to box and how to wrestle. MMA is a lot different.

UFC fighters would get frustrated trying to close the distance, and if they managed to do it they'd be surprised when outwrestled by the superior athlete lmao
