I know Muay Thai is huge in Thailand and because of Pacquiao boxing has a lot of fans in the Phillipines, but how big is MMA in Asia? I ask this because having an influx of Asians into MMA would mean that more competitive lower weight classes. Hell, it might make more people watch Flyweight since it'll be more stacked. It would also up the average Muay thai skill level in MMA.

More just curious than anything.

I attended a ONE FC card in Bangkok last spring. Pretty decent card actually, with fighters from many South East Asian countries. The interest for MMA is there, and growing.

not that big in thailand. Most people have no idea about it.

but thais go where the money is, so they might jump onto it in the future.

I'm living in south east asia at the moment, it is definitely growing. My trainer competes in MMA for OneFC - he is a semi pro boxer, he said there is way more money in MMA than in boxing.

I think ONE has been growing the sport a lot in South East Asia and ROAD FC is doing really well in China and South Korea.

Japan is still in the Kakutogi depression although I'm hopeful for RIZIN.
