Or is he that good? Can you please tell what the heck is going on when this guy was a gatekeeper at best all his life until that lucky win against Luke Skywalker.

Its because he officially left that bum island and started getting some real training with A level stars.

It's the culmination of years of fighting coming to fruition

He finally came into his own. Plus drug testing...
He says he came to realize he has been over-training for years.
Now he doesn't.

Could be that he's actually a pretty damn good fighter.

Just a weaker MW division. Bisping has always been a good fighter, but didn't reach the top 5 because of a few very good fighters. These good fighters got old.

It is kind of funny that a guy past his prime, with a pretty big handicap is no 1 at MW.

Every time he's lost, its been to uh.."questionable" opponents. Suddenly, with USADA introduced, its a level playing field.

He has grown on me over the years, and he defended the belt...amazing!

Two words: Jason Parillo.

Bisping himself has given him tons of the credit, several times. Plus, what others have already said; USADA testing, years of experience coming to a head, no more over-training, etc.

Weaker division? How?

no fucking kid-ding

Being a late replacement helps when he constantly fell short in number one contender fights. He worked so hard throughout his career and it turns out it was doing more harm than good.

This will all come crashing down when he runs in to the true number 1 contender. Who we all know, is Nick Diaz.
