Breaking News: According to an anonymous source, MMA fighters get hit in the head.

Any "Just wait ten years till they do an MMA documentary on head trauma" posts are ridiculous because boxing had been around for 200 years and is far worse for head trauma, so all we need to do is scale back boxing considerably and we have a good idea of head trauma in MMA. We don't need a fucking documentary to tell us a story we've already known for a long time.

Is there head trauma in the sport of wrestling? How about Ju Jitsu? MMA is safer for head trauma because it involves these grappling aspects while sports such as kickboxing and muay tai don't.

We don't need fighters coming out with diagnosed CTE to tell us what we already know, and also that MMA has far less head trauma than boxing. Something "isn't going to come out" about MMA specifically that will separate it from other contact sports in terms of head trauma. If MMA is having issues, boxing, kickboxing, muay tai, and other combat sports are already seeing it way worse.

Big Daddy Goodridge knows this well

Well MMA fighters do box in the gym, and they still get hit a lot in competition, so practicing wrestling and jiu jitsu on the side will not reverse that head damage. Mike Tyson fed pigeons and that didn't prevent him from being almost deaf and poor sighted.

Having said that, we still don't have a James Toney and the likes in MMA.
