People in all sports come out of retirement all the time.

I would imagine it's more common in combat sports as people quite quickly get fed up of being punched in the head for a living, then realise that it isn't as easy in the real world as you'd think when your only work experiences over the last few years was getting punched in the head. So they get punched in the head some more for a few years to make more money.
