will you still consider aldo the goat or one of the best ever if he refuses to move up to fight mcgregor?

Aldo is one of the best featherweights of all time.

Conor is supposed to either give up the FW belt if he wins or go back and defend if he loses...

Conor stopped Aldos streak but it's already phenominal. Conor needs an Aldo defence if he wants to ever be called FW Goat

GOAT means greatest of all time. Not greatest of 2015-2016. Fuck you conor dummies. Aldo reigned for nearly 10 years. 10 is greater than 2. And Im being generous with that 2. He hasnt even defended the damn thing.

If Conor even wants to be known as current best featherweight he has to beat Aldo in a rematch. Even casuals are noticing that Conor is ducking Aldo

Aldo is already cemented as one of the greatest champions and one of the most complete mixed martial artists of all time, in my opinion the best.

That was before his loss to McGregor and the loss doesn't change that, he doesn't need to chase the rematch and avenge it to solidify his legacy.

If anything I'd rather see him fight Holloway or Cruz at this point.

It would be more correct to say that he's THE best, and no one else has come remotely close to matching his accomplishments there.

This is why I don't trust threads that start with lowercase letters.

He's 13 seconds shy of being the best

aldo is the GOAT at 145 it isnt even debatable. Also it would look worse on conor for not defending his belt at 145

I think if Conor does beat Alvarez, you'll see Aldo go for redemption against Conor at 155lbs.

Aldo beat Brown for the WEC title. That's good.
Then Faber... good.
Then Gamburyan... so what.
Then Hominich, who almost beat him... so not so good.
Then Florian... so what.
Then Mendes... alright.
Then Edgar... impressive.
Then Jung... so what.
Then Lamas... good.
Then Mendes again... so what.

Nine defenses. Great. But some of them aren't very impressive.
Aldo is great, I don't dispute that, but there are more impressive champions.

I doubt you could find more than a handful.
Only Fedor, Silva, Jones and GSP are arguably more impressive.

Being top 5 goat isn't too shabby

Bisping is actually a more legitimate champion than Conor

Florian - so what?
KZ - so what?
Peptide Mendes - alright/so what?

Standards are too high, man. Every one of those guys is a good/great win. He's easily GOAT FW. But I think Conor is absolutely unafraid of him and feels that he has 'been there, done that.' There's almost no incentive for Conor to fight Aldo a second time, unless he loses to Alvarez and is forced to defend at 145.
