Seems like the consensus is Aldo deserves a bunch of money and special consideration for title shots based on his history. Well, according to the majority of you goofs Fedor is the goat and he didn't even get recked as bad as Aldo did. Why didn't Fedor get an immediate rematch if he basically earned it?

The facts:
-Also a longtime champ
-Also considered goat
-Also went 10 years undefeated
-Also just got caught
-wears cute sweaters
-enjoys ice cream

So did Fedor not cry and complain enough? Is it because it wasn't for a title?

Thoughts?

He isn't insecure about his skills or ultra worried about his legacy.

Im sure he would like one but i dont think it would eat at him like Nate vs Conor.

If he got a rematch he could've kept it standing and won. He was looking sharp before he followed Werdum to the ground (I know it wasn't long)

He didnt want it, Fedor or more accurately M-1 had Strikeforce by the balls at that point if he wanted a rematch he could have gotten one.
Instead they picked Bigfoot who was almost knocked out by Mike Kyle in his previous fight, and had lost to Werdum prior to that.

Fedor and the Russian mob obviously had other plans.

Fedor fought another fight and lost again. Aldo fought another fight and won. Nobody is saying that Aldo should get an immediate rematch, since that is impossible.

First of all Aldo wouldn't be getting an immediate rematch considering the fact that he has already fought and defeated Edgar since his loss to Conor. Secondly, the only time an immediate rematch really matters is when it's for the title. Since being the champ comes with a lot of perks.

They wanted to make more cash via the tournament.

If he rematched Werdum immediately and won, then the tournament would have happened way later and it wouldn't containt the main ingredient : REVENGE.

They probably expected both Fedor and Werdum to pass through the first round. Sadly they didn't...

Because only McGregor get insta-rematches and insta-title shots in whatever division. Soon Dana will force Bones, Stipe and Bisping to lose weight and challenge Conor 4 WW title.

To be fair... for Fedor it was during the SF Grandprix... they couldn't stop a tourney 4 rematch. Fedor was expected to win and if he did... Strikeforce may have still been around.

Ppl were mocking it at the time but looking back its HW was stronger than the UFC's at that time and many of it's fighters went on to great success in UFC.

But the entire thing was riding on, and invested too much on Fedor winning.

It's something ppl have been saying (including Aldo and his team) since before he fought Edgar.

It takes two to tango, doesn't it?

SF had been wanting to put on a HW tourney for a while. After that loss to Werdum, SF wanted to maximize Fedors drawing power and put him in a position to meet Overeem or Doom, if he beat BF. That didnt happen

They wanted to build up to a tournament, and then came Bigfoot.

The fight he really should have had was Overeem, its just a shame he ducked him for so long before it could happen.

Wouldn't matter. He almost got murder by a guy who Werdum already beat.
