Why is McGregor so afraid of giving up his belt?

Why is Andy Anderson obsessed with starting threads about Conor?

The whole point is to be the first with two simultaneous belts.

Rankings, belts, blah... this shit transcends all that.

You are getting caught up in the minutiae.

The real Andy Anderson would understand the epic proportions of what Conor has been doing since dismantling Aldo.

The whole point is to be the first with two simultaneous belts.
What is the legitimacy of it when you don't defend your belt and lost to nate fucking Diaz?
Why doesn't the UFC strip Eddie's belt and give it to McGregor?

Conor's legacy will forever be tarnished by that first Nate Diaz fight. If he had gone on to fight and beat RDA, then he would have gone down in history, but now?

Nate isn't even that good.

Even if he beats Eddie, it doesn't mean much... Sure, he has a belt... But what has he really done?

Is his UFC record really that impressive, when all things taken into consideration?

Dustin Porier (Legit win)
Mendes (2 weeks notice)
Aldo (13 second KO, but now he's ducking after Aldo earned the rematch. History has also proven time and time again that quick KO's like that don't matter much in combat sports and that the rematches can turn out vastly different.)
Nate Diaz (2 weeks notice, got choked out)
Nate Diaz (Close majority decision. Legit win, but not very impressive.)

The only 2 truly elite fighters he has beaten are Mendes and Aldo, and Mendes only had 2 weeks to prepare.

Sure, KO-ing Aldo in 13 seconds is impressive.

But then again, Matt Serra destroyed GSP in like a minute as well. So does it really mean that much?

Especially when you consider that now he's running for his life from Aldo.

He doesn't want to give up the belt because apparently he likes having it.

And while it is indeed quite the accomplishment, it's only because others were refused the oppertunity.

Bas Rutten (as hw champ) wanted to fight then middleweight (later lhw) champ Frank Shamrock for his belt and Liddell, as champ, was lobbying for a shot at then hw champ Arlovski. More recent was Pettis wanting Aldo.

That said, Conor's starpower is his own doing, capitalzing on great oppertunities.

Legacy and History. Something he's trying to create. Along with millions of dollars.

It would be foolish of him to give up a belt, especially now. He's breaking PPV records and literally runs the game. He knows it. Dana knows it. And after paying $4Billion for the UFC, the owners could care less about belts.

A 2 division champion at the same time, would break even more records.

Connor is the UFC CEO now. Or at least, Danna White is his bitch...

Its not Conor who is scared of losing it, its Dana.
Well Conor too but every champ is scared of losing their belt which is why they shouldn't be able to choose fights.

When an sportsleague clearly shows favouritism to one person or team and grants them advantages like Conor has received its not sport and all such accomplishments should be questioned.

Because he wants to replicate what he has achieved in Cage Warriors and make history in UFC.

In Cage Warriors he didn't get choked out by a middle of the pack LW in between his FW and LW title fights.

Its too late to replicate what he did there.

Got a money belt. Going after a bigger money belt. Get 2 belts. Get 2 money belts. Get lots of money. It makes sense.

Great for Conor, bit shit for fans imo.

His earnings don't make me feel better about the best fights not happening just so money fights can.

He didn't defend his belts at CW because he was signed by UFC
He didnt defend the first one because he wanted the next one. Like now. And then he's gonna retire or go get beaten up by Mayweather. He will never defend, he's a paper champ and scared shitless of taking risks. Piss off ant.

Lets compare wins

Aldo has Frankie, Eddie, and.... Lamas?? Injured Korean Zombie?? Many gamburian?? Sorry just trying to find a legit 3rd win in his decade long career as champ.

Conor has Mendes, Nate Diaz, and Jose fucking Aldo, he wouldve faced RDA but he hurt his vagina and had to pull out, and hes now facing Eddie Alvarez.

But how we all miss the good ole days when Aldo would fight the same guys over again every other year when he's not pulling out of fights.
