Man a complete joke a fighter feels he may have to give up fighting to be secure with hes finances. UFC supposed to be elite level organisation for fighters, but they pay peanuts. Pay the man.

It's the right choice.

Go back to college.

People really just dropping ":eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:" like that? Wtf is wrong with this board?

Poor fella beat Conor before that meant a red panty night. At best he got a pink briefs night

Who the fuck buys a PPV to watch joe Duffy..?

Wait for a bunch of Sherdoggers to say the guy isn't a draw and is in no position to ask for more money.

Meanwhile, the UFC us coming off their most lucrative year and Dave Meltzer reported that the fighters got 13% of that. There are around 600 fighters sharing that.

You make it to the UFC and you'll be fighting the most dangerous opponents of your life and making what you made on the regional circuit.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A FUCKING FIGHTER?!

Apparently Duffy doesn't.

That really is pretty sad, the UFC needs to invest more into their talent it pays off in the long run.

Joe Who?

But yeah, he should quit. Imagine he has a legendary career like Mark Hunt. He's still gonna end up broke and brain damaged. Look at guys like Mark Coleman. Legend. Broke.

And he won't get near that successful. He'll just end up brain damaged, broke, physically shot to pieces, old, no real glory, and no real opportunities to escape that shithole.

Not to mention, if he plans to have children or a wife.. Doesn't brain injury lead to being being abusive and all kinds of mental illness problems? And he won't have the cash to show for it for a better environment to make up for it.

If you aren't in the fight game to get to the top then you should get out. If you are a mediocore fighter and complaining about pay you should be focused on becoming a better fight and not on your pay.

Is he drinking too many guiness? He's made at least $150k in the 17 months he's been in the ufc.

The UFC is a business, not charity. If Duffy wants to get paid more, become interesting inside or outside of the cage. I wish Duffy were in a better financial position, but to blame the UFC for not making more money isn't rational. The UFC supplies the platform for these fighters to earn, after that, it's up to each individual fighter to promote themselves. Loud, interesting guys like Conor have figured that out, while quiet, boring guys like Duffy are struggling to make it.

At some point, it can't be the UFC's fault every time a boring person/fighter doesn't do well, financially. The truth is, no one knows who Duffy is without the UFC giving him a spot on their roster. There are no guarantees, not every guy signed by the UFC is going to end up a millionaire, especially quiet guys who don't go on long winning streaks.

All the money is in Dana White's driveway.
