One last time. Can someone please explain to me why there is no 145 division

There will be. Dana will eat his words as usual and there will be a "stacked" 145 division with Cyborg being heralded as the women's mike tyson.

It still is a lot better than 145. If 145 was any good I would think Cyborg would call them out instead of 135?
 
The UFC is punishing Cyborg because of how she looks. 'Wanderlei in a dress', an 'It', etc. They have a grudge against her. This is also rooted in the fact that they are on Team Ronda, and part of Ronda's early appeal was that she, not Cyborg, was the baddest woman on the planet. The UFC consequently began disparaging Cyborg with deeply personal insults about her appearance in order to differentiate her from Rousey. Even though she is under Zuffa contract, and they want to use her for TV main events, they still love making her suffer: no belt, an insane weight cut, generally being shitty.

If Cyborg suffered renal failure due to the weight cuts, the UFC would have a PR shit storm the likes of which they have never seen.

aRE THERE 10 145LBERS? That aren't hog fat off the street... Simply not enough 145 Real Women fighters
 
Because the last "money" fight at 145 for women was Cyborg vs Gina in 2009. If Ronda had stayed at 145, it would have been a money fight for Cyborg. Ronda drops down to challenge Tate who had already dropped down. Cat and Eye move up from 125. Basically all of the top fighters moved down or up to 135 except Cyborg. Even years after Gina got retired by Cyborg, Dana still boldly proclaimed that women would NEVER fight in the UFC. He quickly changed his mind when he saw dollar signs with Ronda. 145's only hope was if Ronda had stayed there. She basically killed 145.

Last year Gina C was still ranked in the top 30. (no fights since Cyborg)
IIRC Rondas BFF Marina was ranked 13 with a 1-2 record.

I think Cyborg killed 145 by getting caught and Gina leaving MMA.
When Ronda moved down she had been a pro fighter for less than a year and was 4-0.
A one year pro fighter with 4 fights cannot kill a division on her own, if she can... thats a piss poor division.

If Dana wasn´t so protective of their golden goose Ronda, he would´ve brought in 145 also, instead of 135 and 125, only. But instead of bringing in the division with the real wmma GOAT, they created 2 divisions below hers with a bunch of nobodies like Beth Correa, where cyborg can´t make weight.... fucking laughable. But it worked cause you´re buying it. Too bad Holm exposed their hermit champ.... lol...

Roster for UFC is bloated as is; another division would lessen the product even more, IMO. Justino is not only an amazing fighter but also an awesome person, so would like for her to have a home at the premier org. as well.

The issue of 145'ers being a wasteland is not wrong but the greater female landscape is really a formality gone wrong: all these 135'ers come in fight night at 15+ lbs. over weigh-in weight anyhow, so the idea that a 145'er is a leper of sorts is unnecessary. Truthfully, there isn't a single female fighter who is willing to stand toe-to-toe with Justino, so no one campaigns for her inclusion outside of a few squeaks from the public.

The pool of female fighters is disproportionately smaller than male, so you could make an argument that this circumstance warrants there being a treated merger of 135 and 145. Male HW's after all call home a range of some 60 lbs., lol.
 
Because it's a dead division. People say that if it's built the talent will come but the division has existed in some or another across three organizations and has never took off. There's barely any natural 145s, and a lot of bloated 125s and 135s.
