DC didn't really give Jones much trouble, and never put him in any danger.

Gus gave him a lot of damage and trouble, and could probably beat him in a rematch.

For Jones it is much smarter to pick a rivalry against a guy he didn't really have much trouble beating... a guy that most people dislike...suddenly people started liking Jones.
