Used to be that the heavyweight division was the most important division in all of combat sports. Being the heavyweight champion meant being the baddest man on the planet and also the most popular combat athlete. But recent years manlets like mayweather, pacquaio and the UFC, Mcgregor have taken over. Guys who wouldn't last 30 seconds against any top 20 heavyweight in their respective sports.

People say WMMA is a joke because it's of a much lower level but the same could be said when comparing the lightweight division to the heavyweight division

HW are old AF
Champ change every 2 minutes

LHW used to be the best divison
(Liddell, Ortiz, Rampage, Evans, Forrest, Shogun, Machida, Thiago Silva, Wandy etc)
Now it's one, if not the worst Div right now.

Smaller division are just more exciting right now.

Heavyweights like Tyson and Hunt are draws and they are manlets. Tyson is one of the biggest draws ever. Manlets have always been a draw.

Conor KO's people stiff in exciting high paced fights. After the 2nd round, nearly all heavyweights move like they are ready to be put in a retirement village.

Other manlets flock to them to vicariously live thier manlet dreams. Normal sized humans don't feel this need.

because the current p4p king is a manlet

Personally, I've always preferred the lighter weight classes in Boxing.

Ts longs for the days when only huge oiled men fought for for his arousal ....errr entertainment.

Conor McGregor!

I've always been pretty well rounded & try to look at all divisions... but when Conor started his tear, i started studying those divisions & got way more familiar with everyone.

Because the heavyweights aren't very good in MMA or boxing now

Uhhh, in boxing, DLH and RJJ were super popular and neither were HWs.

Royce Gracie was one of the first popular mixed martial artists in North America and weighed like 160 lbs lol.

Nothing changed. These things happen.

I know right.

It's a reflection on how far the HWs have fallen, and how society as a whole has been effeminized to the point that tiny, androgynous males who are too girly for Japanese hair product commercials 30 years ago are dominating the business side of combat sports. The feminists have won.

There used to be a lack of knockouts in the lower divisions...that has changed now thanks to PED explosion over the last 40 years...god bless the PEDs.
