I know that some people will not like this because USA is meant to have bigger better everything.

On an American fight card you're lucky to have more than one fight above MW.

European card: nearly half the card is LHW or above.

Average North American/Brazilian man is like 5'9.5" or something. That's why FW, LW, WW are the deepest, toughest divisions.

Average Dutch man is like 6'0". Danish and Norwegians about the same. Germans above 5'11". If MMA was a Viking-based aport the strongest division might even be MW.

The US is also much more diverse than many of those European countries. Our population isn't as homogeneous. We have people from all over the world that drive the average height and size down.

The average white and black American is 5'10, which is not short and compares favorably with most countries in the world. Nobody is saying Americans are the tallest people in the world, but I don't get where all this "shorty" stuff is coming from.
