He is the epitome of MMA. Pure skill and nothing else.

The last man who was able to mix takedowns, striking and clinch so fluidly was GOAT Fedor but Cruz is even better. Pre USADA Prime Machida dreams of being as elusive as he is.

In 2-3 years from now on Dom will beat MM and whoever is 145 champ and will become undisputed MMA GOAT.

Cruz Bless.

Cruz fighting up at FW would help his claim.

No fault of his own, but he fought a lot of natural FLWs throughout his BW career.

Cruz vs Aldo
Cruz vs Frankie
Cruz vs Conor
Cruz vs Pettis

Then GOAT would be undeniable.

Dude is a beast. Total mma machine.

His comeback is basically legendary.

Sits on the shelf with career ending injuries and outclasses his opponents.

He is unique. He is unpredictable. And he has probably the best fight IQ in the whole sport.

P.S watch the video in the OP post. Perfection

He's good, but the whole Dance Dance Revolution style is boring and he never finishes fights.

Plus, taking years off at a time isn't a mark in his favor.

AND his level of competition has been fine, but nothing Earth shattering.

So, I disagree 100%

Oh and....

DJ is P4P #1 currently.

Man, you are knowledgeable poster. Just admit that Cruz beats MM at least 8/10 times.

You know it's true

Maybe he will fight again at least once in 2 - 3 years...

In the last two fights he beat #1 and #2 fighters at BW. Before his injuries he cleared up his division and forced half of his opponents to become flyweights.

How you can get better than that???

Pound for pound, though.

And DJ is a far better fighter than he was then. DJ, after the Ian McCall fights, is a different guy.

He's cleaned out the division with KO's, Submissions, dominant performances. He has lapped the field in his Weight Class.

P.S. I'm rooting for Cruz to become GOAT

Nah. He's up there though. That comeback story is insane...

But he loses the rematch to Dillasnake. Once Dillasnake figured out the leg kicks he took the last 2 rounds. He also loses to 135 Edgar if he drops.

If he goes up to 145 he loses to the top guys. Holloway, McGregor, Aldo, Edgar, Pettis.

I love Cruz & if he fights often enough He might be a p4p goat one day but look at his current record. His best wins are Joe b. 2x, MM, dillashaw, & Faber the second time. Faber was past it by the 3rd Cruz fight. Good resume, but not goat worthy imo.

He hasn't proven he is any better than TJ so no...they need to bring that back ASAP cause titles shouldn't exchange hands after weak sauce decision...

DJ cleaned out his division because there are like 3 guys in his division. Cruz is a better fighter and probably the smartest guy in MMA

Backthen when mm was struggling with MCall sure, but now??? Its hard to say who would win.

Personally he needs to do more in his division.

Hey no one shits on TJ. He is one of the most skilled fighters on the planet.

But Cruz outsmarted him, landed more punches and takedowns. Cruz is not a finisher. He is just the most skilled fighter in MMA
