Demian Maia is in his prime

He has definitely evolved. His combo of wrestling / Jiu Jitsu is absolutely lethal.
 
His prime was around 6 years ago.

Just wish he'd decided to fight at WW well before then.
 
Yeah, it appears that he is. Maia is a stud, and it's weird that he doesn't have more fans.

this is such a big reason he looks so great in the clinch. he was great in the clinch when he was outsized and muscled at MW now he is looking like a savage when he is as big or bigger than everybody. He didnt suddenly get great at TDs, he suddenly started fighting in the right division with the right mentality for his skillset, abandoned "k1 Maia" and making getting into clinch range his main objective.
