at the weigh-ins, I definitely feel like the UFC needs to reevaluate, readjust, and possibly add another weight class. You could squeeze another one between WW and LHW and just readjust the others to 0's. Example: MM and FLW's go from 125 to 130 and so on, every 10lbs till you get to 190 and then you go to 205.

Pettis has always looked kinda average sized against other LWs. I think he would've looked great if there was 150lb division instead of looking skeletal at 145.

Let's not add more weight classes just to benefit a couple people.

People will still just cut the max weight they can

No, no more weight classes. At this point it will just devalue titles, thin out divisions and bring about more multi-divisional champions that hold up title scenes.

if theres a need for a new weight class its in between LHW and HW..... a new Cruiserweight division could be a fun division. Then drop LHW to 200 lbs so theres not as big of a jump from MW

This benefits more than just a couple of fighters. Especially with the IV ban in place.

It'd actually be just adding one more weight class. And the UFC could insert rules about jumping weight classes and fighting for another belt.

Example: If say 140lb champ Cruz wants to move up and fight for a 2nd belt against 150lb champ Conor or down to 130lb against MM. If he wins the 2nd belt, he immediately drops the belt of the division he came from. You get 2 benefits from this. 1, the fighter gets the prestige of winning a 2nd belt. 2, one belt gets dropped freeing up that division.

2nd rule could be that a fighter must fight at least 3 fights in the division where he just won the belt before moving to another weight class, up or down.

I don't think that's necessary either. Very few of the best HW's in history wouldn't be able to cut down to a CW division, which means that they've successfully placed HW around the place where size starts to hinder you more than you gain from it.

It still has the effect I'm talking about, just not as much as introducing several new weight classes.

There will always be fighters that aren't perfectly suited to the arbitrarily chosen limits of the divisions, that's just how things are.

You're just not used to his weight cut face. Weight cut Cormier, for example, gets a sunken zombie face but no one makes a big deal out of it because we've seen it several times now. Or it's like when Rogan first shaved his head, it seemed super weird at first but now totally normal.

Let's add an Intercontinental Champion, too.

Guys like Faber, Cowboy, and pre-coked-out-Jones DC could win this one...

no, he looked fine at 155 he just got figured out/lost to better/more prepared guys.

no one is forcing these guys to cut this much, it's on them.

Fuck no. Way too many weight classes already.

I know it is tough but some guys just don't get to be champ or stay champ and that's life.

The answer isn't "hey let's just add more belts until my favorite fighter gets to be champ"

We already have two 145 champs and a 155 champ- 3 belts in a Span of 10 pounds

If there was a class between LW and WW I think it would benefit a lot of guys really.

Just get rid of weight cutting

Most guys would be fighting the same people anyway

Only a handful wouldn't change division

Let's make a regulation like PBC, Where you have to be around 10% more or less from the weight that you are fighting at & increase weight division. Also if they can arrange gravity test for measuring water weight than that would be more beneficial.
For the fighters sake they need more weight classes. This constant rigorous dehydration is really harmful for anyone's health. SO we can't demand entertainment over the cost of other people's health.

Why does this always get brought up.

if CW was 22lbs then 90% of the elite HWs could cut down to that weight which would leave HW with Hunt. Bigfoot, lesnar and Struve. Cain, JDS, fuck Overeem even at this point, could cut down to 220lbs so what's the purpose. It eouldn't be fun it would only make LHW and HW weaker and it#s not lik e especially HW is the deepest division as it is
Do away with the HW limit and let it be as it is
