sad, i guess, but in a way Tecia pretty lucky, an awful lot of people dont get to know their great grandparents. I only ever met one properly and that was just before he died

That's assuming they were teen moms. But I understand your point. I met my great-grandma before she passed. She was 90, I was around 10 or so at the time.
