Woodley now claims honor in fighting teammate?

In his defense, it's always different when it's a title on the line

However, this is Tyron "accepts no challengers" woodley we are talking about, so.... Hi

Psssst - They're all bullshitting so you watch and keep the buzz/hype up; know that they appreciate you being "part of the team".

Seems you totally missed the FOR THE TITLE part. But don't let facts get in the way.

By all means. Pile on.

I guess the title being on the line is a good excuse but I remember Lombard was basically questioning Woodley's manhood in not accepting a fight with him and Woodley just took it. He sure didn't care much about honor then.

He has always maintained he would only fight a teammate if it's for the title.

Robbie has already said they don't even train in the same location so it's not like they're teammates. Woodley DID duck Lombard hard though and the same was true then too. Lombard said they didn't train together. The title makes a good excuse but it's still an excuse.

Ducked Lombard.....Hector fought once in 2014 and got injured and sat out the rest of the year only to come back and get busted for PEDs.

Woodley fought in March, June, again in August and then in January of 2015, all while Hector sat out, taking steroids and accusing Woodley of "ducking" him.

But again, as I said in my 1st post, don't let facts get in the way of a good pile on. Have at it.

Are you denying that Woodley said he wouldnt fight Lombard because they were teammates? When they didn't even train together?

He also ducked his sister and prefers turning left than right.

I'm saying the fight wasn't even a possibility when Hector was calling him out. Kind of hard to duck a fight that can't even be made.

That's not true. Then you talk about not letting facts get in the way of piling on?
Lombard's later problems don't change the fact that Woodley wouldn 't take the fight. Lombard was calling him out in 2014. You just ignore that. Lombard later fought Josh Burkman in Jan 2015 because Woodley wouldn't do it. That's when Lombard tested positive and got suspended.

August 2014
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - UFC president Dana White was looking to book Hector Lombard vs. Tyron Woodley as the headliner for a December show in Australia.

According to the UFC president, Lombard, the former Bellator middleweight champion, was down to fight Woodley, his American Top Team teammate. But White said Woodley wasn't.

White told reporters on Friday that he sat down with Woodley after his quick win over Dong Hyun Kim in Macau last weekend and asked him to take the fight. He also pointed out that with Woodley, Lombard, and Robbie Lawler all in the welterweight division's top five, and all in the same camp, two of the three were destined to tangle.

"I sat down with Woodley after his fight in China," White said. "And, he won easily, quick in and out. I said listen, we need you again, what do you think about fighting Hector Lombard in Australia, main event. He said ‘that's my teammate man, I don't want to fight my teammate.' I said dude, your teammate, you guys are three of the top five. You have to fight each other."

White says he ran the scenario past ATT founder Dan Lambert, one of MMA's most respected, longtime figures, and got his blessing.

"I talked to Dan Lambert and I said listen, this is the fight I want to make," White said. "So Lambert hits me back and says, Lombard's in, he wants the fight. Still talking to Woodley. He hits me again and says Woodley's out, Woodley won't take the fight."

According to White, Lombard sent a text message on Friday underscoring his interest in the bout.

"I'm literally flying here [to Sacramento], I'm on the plane, I'm wheels up, and I get a text from Hector Lombard that says, ‘please get this Woodley fight done for me, I want this fight so bad, he's a two-faced phony and I want to beat his ass.' Literally what he said to me. So I called Woodley when I landed, and said, obviously this isn't a teammate thing, here's what your teammate said, and he wants this fight bad. And he said he can say whatever he wants, he's about him and he's always about him, this fight doesn't work for me and my brand. He started telling me all these reasons why he doesn't want this fight. I said, whatever kid. Do your thing. But he wants nothing to do with Hector."

So it's back to the drawing board for White, who still wants to headline the Dec. 8 card in Sydney with the fighter formerly known as "Lightning," but now known as "Showeather."

"Lombard will fight somebody," White said. "We'll figure it out."

Woodley has not yet commented on the situation.

Right. Like I said. Woodley had already fought 3 times in less than 12 months while Hector sat out and took steroids. And the fact that after fighting his 3rd fight, in China no less, he didn't want to jump right back into camp, for the 4th time in a year, for a fight in Australia, somehow means he ducked Lombard.

Its cool. People hate Woodley. They have their reasons. Personally, I like the fact that he fought 4 times all over the world in a 12 month span, while Hector laid around injecting steroids and thinking up new nick names.

Uh, using the teammate thing is definitely ducking, when the other guy said he's cool with it. If it was really because he didn't want to fight for the fourth time in a year, he would have just said that.
