For example Damien Maia, some feel like his style is boring while others are entertained by his supreme grappling skills.

GSP and MM. People didn't focus on just how good GSP's overall mma game was because he didn't take a lot of risks and went to decision a lot. People underappreciated MM because they see him as a "manlet"

I think Dom's overall MMA game is undervalued. His standup is diverse, his reaction speed and head/body movement is great, and his wrestling and sprawls are on point. He is the decisionator, but he shows calculated aggresion in fights and isnt just a counter puncher or fight staller.

Brock Lesnar. People don't want to recognize his skills because he hunts and he F5'd a shark.

**PETA and USADA are in cahoots - I blame Hillary**

i remember when everyone hated the way the diaz brothers threw punches.

Well, the problem with Damien Maia is he is sunk if he cant get the fight to the ground. I love specialists, dont get me wrong...but i want to see better than that.

Everyone knew how good his game was. A lot of people got bored with him because he turned into a safety first blanket when he was capable of Silva-esque finishes.

Dominic Cruz, fighters will model themselves after him in the future. He will be labelled as GOAT by some in the future and I wont be surprised.

Tim Sylvia. People didn't like him because he was an oafish slob that was boring at times and shits himself. He did have talent though.

Pretty much every professional fighter by a huge amount of people.

Dan Severn , Jon Fitch , Dominick Cruz , Demian Maia.

To pick out a specific aspect, I always thought Hendo's boxing was underrated. People often characterize him as some bar-room brawler, but he's capable of throwing really nice power-combo's with nice technique, and can set up or disguise his shots really well.

1. All wrestling based fighters.
2. BJJ, Sambo and Judo practitioners that do not submit their opponent.

lots of fighters who lost recently - lots of times people pile on them and they dont get the benefit of the doubt for anything until they win again

Say what they will about their size, but skill for skill, these two are as close to being a perfect fighter as it gets. It's unfortunate that they don't (and possibly won't) get their just due because they don't look like superheroes.
