This may sound very tin foil hat but I have a question and I don't know where to look to find the answer.

If a fighter wins a fight and tests positive and the result of the fight is overturned months after the fact does it effect the outcome as far as gambling payouts go?

Conversely...

If a fighter wins a fight and subsequently tests positive for PEDs and the result of the fight is not overturned, does it effect gambling payouts?

Sorry for such a dumb question, I'm genuinely curious.

No. All wagers are based solely on the results on the night of the event, unless otherwise specified. The Commission could overturn the result of a fight the very next morning and it wouldn't matter to the bookies/betting sites.

Exactly. I've been pissed off by this multiple times. When this happens my bet has almost never been on the fighter who tested positive afterwards...

the casinos and bookies happily pay out the winners on fight night and then when its overturned they happily pay out the new winners. they love happy customers and they love when everyone wins.

Result that night stands and despite personally having money on Hunt to win that night I actually agree with this, who wants to be sweating months to see if their winnings will be overturned. Makes sense the way it is.

I would gladly accept a refund check months after the fact.

Yeah but would you like your winning taken away from you months after the fact, I think it is right the way it is. Otherwise you are not celebrating your winnings after the fight but waiting a few months, plus bookmakers in that scenario would have a right to hold all your winnings till the situation clears. Result on the night stands is the only sensible play here. This is from someone that bets even on the Fight Pass Exclusives, I can't be waiting till PED tests get resolved to pick up that money and very few of us would.

Thanks for the responses guys. I've never bet on MMA myself but this was something that crossed my mind and I felt compelled to ask about.

Nope.

Which is good for me because Bork made my dollas holla!

This sucks... but losing $ on a total BS judge's decision is way worse.
