While I've heard this a lot, I myself feel impartial about this.
The lead right is a very powerful weapon. Using the stronger more coordinated hand to jab, feint and hand trap much like a fencer (Bruce Lee mention this a lot).
I use to always think that the left should be developed the play that role and a great reason to be in orthodox. Also many right handers, left hand might actually be stronger than their right.
If your right hand is stronger or far more developed than your left, then standing in orthodox not only perserves the right hand but keeping it coiled in that position makes it an ultra power weapon.
