Rogan says Joanna has the best striking in MMA though. Weird.

Joanna says she left Muay Thai for UFC after losing to her.

Val tossed her to the ground over and over again. It was mostly even in distance striking.
 
Well Valentina is a bit bigger, not by much though, they both would be comfortable fighting at 125.
But yeah, the metagames in MMA and Muay Thai in europe are very very different, and having a favorable match-up doesn't mean you're overall better.
 
Valentina is bigger and had the better clinch game. MMA and Muay Thai are different sports though, and Valentina has not displayed the level of striking in the UFC that Joanna has. Maybe that will change tonight. Holly is a great matchup to see what Valentina can do in MMA.
 
Valentina should be fighting at 125. She could legit be the GOAT there

Im guessing though Joanna still has height and reach? A catchweight sounds pretty awesome but those never happen when fighters are on top of their careers.
 
UFC should make the 125 women's division and make that the inaugural title fight.

Both are about the same size, I think. Shevchenko is shorter. I think she barely cuts weight to make 135lbs. She weighed in at 133 lbs and looked completely fine. Joanna always looks very emaciated when she makes 115lbs.
 
Shevchenko was more experienced, I think the first one was possibly even Joanna's first MT fight.

The last fight between them was close.

That was Valentina's 13th fight, it was Joanna's 3rd recognised fight




Third time they fought was the 1/4 finals of the world in 2008

That was Valentina's 20th fight, it was Joanna's 4th recognised fight




Its comparing a hugely experienced MT world champ, with a total rookie.
