The only reason the UFC created 115 instead of 125 was to insure that Ronda would have a steady stream blown up 125ers to beat up on. Hence the potential of so many female fighters were sacrificed to feed the Ronda hype machine.
Natural 125ers either have to fight at BW and give up a size advantage.
Or starve themselves to make 115.
Valerie Letourneau is an example of both extremes in that she has fought as a 135er and then 115er.
This would be the equivalent of not having a male WW division. If you're a natural 170er, you either fight at LW or MW. It's asinine.
Those who think that 125 would deplete the 115 and 135 divisions need to consider that WMMA divisions don't need to be that deep.
The most WMMA fights a UFC event has had is three (not counting female centric TUF finales). Many events don't even have one WMMA fight. Hence there is no need to have 50 fighters at 135, 50 at 125, and 50 at 115.
I've always felt that Liz Carmouche would have a stellar career at 125. She could have been the star of that division. It's a shame.
