-Contray to revisionist history Jones did not "work his way up the ladder" or "earn it." The only fighters of any note who Jones had ever beaten was Vera and Bader, and then he was gifted a title shot due to Rashad injuring his knee

-Since winning the belt off an injuried Shogun who was 7-9 months removed from major surgery, and who accepted Jones on short notice, Jones has ONLY finished 1 current LHW since (Rampage)

-In the 10 fights Jones has had since and inlcuding Shogun, only 6 of Jones opponents are still current UFC LHWs (Rashad has hinted at going down to MW)

-Jones (a natural HW cutting down to LHW) defended his LHW belt against MWs... twice in a row...MWs who hadnt fought at LHW in years...Jones being their first LHW fight in ages

- Jones has NEVER fought a taller opponent with more reach

-Since his decision against Rashad, every one of Jones fights against LHWs have been decisions

-Since "becoming champion" Jones has had 5 decisions

-Jones' last 4 fights have all been consecutive decisions where he has lost many rounds on judges scorecards

-Only 2 of Jones opponents had a win streak of more then 5 heading into their fight with Jones.

-To put the last fact into perspective, GSP faced opponents after opponents who were not only on long winning streaks but pound for pound ranked. Which brings us to the next Jon Jones fact

-Jones has NEVER beaten a top 5 pound for pound ranked fighter (By comparison Conor McGregor in under 6 UFC fights has already beaten 2 pound for pound ranked fighters including the former #1 in Aldo)

Again lets add some perspective, when you strictly compare stats and numbers to GSP, Fedor, or even Aldo durring their runs, Jones doesnt compare.

Like they say, men lie/have bias etc, especially fanboys, but numbers never lie

-Fedor and GSP each had far more top 5 wins, many wins over actual pound for pound ranked fighters, and actually beat opponents who were in their primes and on long winning streaks. (Jones "accomplishments" only look good on paper, but when you actually examine and apply context, it starts to fall apart from the seams)

-Jones was hit 191 times by Gustafsson.

-AGAIN! Gus hit Jones 191 times at 69%. I mean holy snaps right !

-Let this sink in, Jones has been hit MORE in 1 fight alone, then Conor McGregor has been hit in his entire career combined 2x over.

-Jones has been hit more in 1 fight alone, then Dominick Cruz has been hit in his entire career combined 3 times over

- Judges had DC and Gus winning 2 rounds (Most fan polls had Gus winning the fight) Barring a gimmie match against OSP who had just been finished by Glover (whom still took Jones to decision btw) Jones had lost 4 of his last 10 rounds. Meanwhile GSP went through long streaks of never losing a round. Same went for Fedor.

As we come back to the saying from earlier, to wrap this up, Men lie. Numbers never lie. I dont see how anyone in their right mind who has actually followed MMA over the years can claim Jones is the GOAT. Greatest LHW? Sure. GOAT? Not even close according to the facts, the numbers and stats, in comparison to GSP/Aldo/Fedor...even other GOAT contenders. For example Matt Hughes has more finishes then Jones has total fights

I know what the typical "responses" will be. The Jones defense force trolls will angrily be waiting to attack or respond.."youre a hater" Listing facts doesnt mean hate. Im simply speaking the truth about Jones. The facts speak for itself. If it offends you, its because YOU are a fanboy. Sorry

I wont even get into the insane non sense of Jones being the #1 pound for pound ranked fighter when he is bigger then everyone he fights and when he doesnt have a complete game (he has mediocre boxing footwork and defense)

Just so more are aware, pound for pound means skill relative to weight.

Jones is not even the best boxer of LHW, nor the best kickboxer, nor the best grappler, meaning hes not exceptionally skilled at anything. He gets by on size/reach/chin/eye pokes/oblique kicks/and wrestling...Jones is the very anti-thesis of pound for pound. Jones shouldnt even be on pound for pound lists at all..so the fact hes actually #1 is pure lunacy and a mockery to MMA and P4P lists

Hilarious bias in yer numbers.

Most of those lhws left the division because Jon jones murked them dude. If anything it's an accomplishment that he cleaned out his own division.

Gustaffson landed 191 strikes yet couldn't finish jones. A testament to how durable Bones is.

His decision wins are making him invulnerable as of late. He uses his reach expertly and forces his opponents to chase him and run into strikes.

I normally root against jones due to eyepokes and him being kind of a douche. But his fighting record cannot be denied.

Take it easy bro, think you're getting a little carried away.

Also, you can make weight, that's your weight class. Really struggle to see what people don't understand.

Nice to see an original post on the forum. You hardly ever seem any criticism of Jones around here.

Maybe you can follow up with a detailed post about what kind of person he is outside of the cage.

Feel better TS?

Edit: reconsider calling the thread cold hard opinion and some made up shit. Most judges had DC winning 2 rounds?

"Most judges had Jones beating Cormier 48-47" actually it was a clear 49-46.

God that's a desperate attempt at diminishing a fighter by overly exaggerating some obscure statistics. If he wasn't as good as he is then you wouldn't have made this crappy propaganda effort.

Jones is one of the greatest fighters alive today

And calling him a natural heavyweight is laughable. Stipe is a natural heavyweight. That's a guy who literally couldn't make 205 and survive it. So don't be dumb anymore okay? Promise me

Cold hard fact: TS is a special kind of stupid.

You can't complain about a gifted title shot after 8 successful title defenses, that's just not how shit works
