Hey guys, I have been working on some longform combat stories on my site chasingchamps.com. I wrote this piece as a retrospective of Frankie Edgar's career as a lightweight champion and featherweight contender ahead of another title fight at UFC 200. It's a long read, but if anyone wants to check it out and/or give me some feedback that would be awesome:

Let's see. I've got two options.

A) Work.
B) Read your story about Frankie Edgar.

Option B sounds better. You'll have your feedback soon enough.

I'm going to mark this and try to give it a legitimate read when I free up some time later. I read the first bit, and I like the language, tone, and imagery you've chosen so far.

Frankie has so much momentum going into this fight
He's always evolving and performs well in rematches(Eg: The Maynard fights and also I and a lot of others believe he beat Bendo in the 2nd fight)

And that's a lovely article
The images and the layout of the page make it look very clean and professional

Man, this is fucking awesome. Nice work. Very well written, entertaining and the imagery is a thing of beauty. Thank you very much for sharing.

“Who’s got the fucking power?”
:')

Nice bit of literature there sir, I was certainly enthralled. I think we see Frankie beat Aldo this time around.

I ended up reading the entire thing. I really enjoyed it. I felt as if I was able to re-watch all of those fights again, with the environment really coming to life. I feel as if someone who might be new to Edgar, and this was the first thing they read about him, I feel they would be able to have a good grasp of his spirit and energy level after reading. It definitely has me in the mood for Aldo/Edgar 2 now. Again, good choice of language and generating solid imagery that puts the reader right back in the cage with him.

Damn, that was great! You might want to apply to some sites to get paid for such quality! Way better than a lot of articles on mmafighting, etc.

+1

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Had a lot of fun writing it and it gave me the chance to go back and revisit all those great fights I covered.

I have a few more stories in the pipeline, one about Dominick Cruz and another on Wonderboy. I'll post them as well when they're done (graduating college this week, so probably next week). Glad to hear the story got people excited for Aldo/Edgar II, that's my goal and will be with my future pieces.

Please do share with us, mate. I'd really want to see Dominick's story.

Beautiful article on my favorite fighter.

MMA really needs pieces like this one.

Great job TS. Flawless article on one of the sports greatest competitors.

(Typo in third paragraph.... "His opponent Chad Mendes" comes after a semicolon, so "his" should be lowercase.)

It's pretty good. Some of the writing had me reading over it a few times, cumbersome or laced with too many adjectives. But nothing like, horrible.

Should be an interesting fight. Weirdly, I think Aldo's head is the X-factor...

Great piece. It was thoughtfully written with excellent detail and really captured the story in an emotional yet informative way. Kudos and thanks for sharing.

I'll be saving this, it's incredible and my second favorite article of all time. It's actually my favorite MMA article, as my favorite is about Erik Morales, and written over ten years ago.

Thank you for sharing your work., and like others have said, you should really be getting paid for high quality work like this.

Wow that means a lot, thank you. I love writing about fighters and I definitely hope to be able to do so in a professional environment, so your feedback is great to hear.

thank god it isn't about Conor...
