Lorenzo Fertitta >> Frank Fertitta III >> Frank Fertitta II (father) >> Fertitta's Grandfather to Fertitta's Uncles >> Fertitta's Cousins >> Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal (subject of movie Casino at the Freemont hotel/casino who worked for Fertitta's dad there) >> Sam Maceo >> Rosario Maceo to Palermo Sicily (home of the Mafia)

Frank & Lorenzo's family includes Sam Maceo & Rosario Maceo

You can read the entire thing at the link above.

The reason why I'm posting this is because I still see people saying that the mafia thing is a myth. And most of us here have had an inkling that they're at least tied to the mafia but never had any proof of it.

The way they run their business is pretty similar to the mafia mindset; they buy out all their oppositions and bully their fighters to do things they don't like because they have no where else to go (maybe recently that slowly changes). Anyone who speaks against is on their shitlist, and get fired at the first chance. They ban any reporters who don't ask the right questions at pressers. I guess the UFC and Pride are pretty similar in some ways.

You just described most privately run businesses... What world do you live in?

PS: if your comparison had any merit, it would include proof of theft, bribery, murder, blackmail, laundering, etc., you know, those items that really identify mob tactics.

Because only the mafia and the UFC work that way. If I go out and speak publicly against my employer I get an instant raise and promotion.
People that trash my company publicly are also extremely welcomed.

And other companies like google or Facebook have never bought another company, they much rather take the risk of other companies outgrowing them. The whole self-driving car thing google invests in is just for fun has nothing to do with future profits.

That's cool, now move on it doesnt concern us directly.

Who cares

Well, considering the heinous crimes mafia organizations commit, I would not want to hear shit else about Jones, unless these criminals would be always mentioned in the same breath. Or, do they get a pass?

Nobody is 'bullied'
Dana can't stand Ariel & he is still at the pressers.
They bought out the competition bc the competitions were selling. Zuffa did not strong-arm Pride & SF was put up for sale when the owners wanted to stop losing money.
Also Bellator is not bought out & direct competition.

But mob ties? Not exactly news.

Going a little far, don't you think?
