There'z been a lot of talk lately about the money fighterz make since Mac ducked 200... & I kept remembering something I read from yearz ago & I finally found it in my notes. (yeah I keep notes FU)

Around 2007... UFC 68, this info waz leaked about what UFC paid Couture... & most likely several other of its big-name fighters for PPV buys:

· Less than 100,000 buys: No money

· 100,000-175,000 buys: $1.00/buy

· 175,000-300,000 buys: $1.50/buy

· 300,000-330,000 buys: $2.00/buy

· Over 330,000 buys: $3.00/buy

· 2015 - Some claimz of modern deals with $5 - $7 per PPV buy as you get toward the million PPV level.

Anyone got some more modern figurez or think it's BS or whatever?

Eddie Alvarez's contract details came out during his negotiations with Bellator/UFC.

I have no idea. And nobody seems to have much credible information. But what's the purpose for asking ?

And keeping notes is actually pretty smart. The dullest pencil is better than the best memory.

Overeem's was revealed that he was supposed make a pay-per-view bonus of $2 per purchase for the Lesnar fight "for all revenues received by UFC-Zuffa for telecast of the Lesnar fight in the United States, Canada or over the internet in excess of $500,000."

Been trying to find the pic of the contract from Couture's lawsuit that was up on the web but it seems to have been taken down...either that or my memory is shit.

Found Alvarez's contract online:

6.2 ZUFFA and Fighter intend for Fighter's first Bout, under this Agreement, to be for the UFC lightweight title and for said lightweight title Bout to occur before the end of March of 2013 so long as Fighter and the then current UFC lightweight champion is medically and/or otherwise able to compete by such date. For the avoidance of doubt, however, regardless of whether Fighter's first Bout is for the lightweight title Bout and occurs on or before the end of March of2013, in addition to the Fighter's Purse, (i) for Fighter's first Bout under this Agreement; and (ii) for any subsequent Bout thereafter in which Fighter participates in a Bout and is defending a UFC Championship belt, so long as such applicable UFC event is broadly distributed in the United States and/or Canada, or any other territory, including via the internet, and so long as the rates charged in said territories, or on the internet, are comparable to those charged in the United States or Canada, on residential pay-per-view on iN DEMAND, DirecTV, Echostar, or similar pay-per-view provider as utilized by ZUFFA ("Pay-Per-View Providers"), then Fighter has the potential to receive a pay-per-view bonus. If such UFC event exceeds specified buy rates of combined sales through Pay-Per-View Providers, Fighter shall receive a Pay-Per- View Bonus as follows:

For combined Pay-Per-View Provider buys purchased within thirty (30) days of the live event, Fighter shall receive One dollar ($1.00) for each pay-per-view buy between 200,000 buys and 400,000 buys; and Two dollars ($2.00) for each pay-per-view buy between 400,000 buys and 600,000 buys; and Two dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50) for each pay-per-view buy over 600,000 buys.

*By way of example only, if such an applicable event were to generate 900,000 combined iN DEMAND, DirecTV, and Echostar, pay-per-view buys, Fighter would receive a pay-per-view Bonus of $1,3 50,000, which would represent $200,000 for applicable buys between 200,000 and 400,000 ($1 x 200,000 buys), $400,000 for applicable buys between 400,000 and 600,000 ($2.00 x 200,000 buys) and $750,000 for applicable buys between 600,000 and 900,000 ($2.50 x 300,000).

Paperwork presented in court is credible information, no?

.

I started this thread because the topic of how much Mac is giving up for ducking the 200 fight has been a major topic with figurez that are all over the place... so I thought it would be good to see if there waz any real information out there.

This is a good example of a lower end deal. There is no way a top draw like Conor, Rousey, GSP..etc would be getting a shitty PPV backend like that. If you can generate 900k buys and your PPV bonus is $1.350 million then you are getting fucked big time.

Need a fighter union. These individually negotiated contracts are killing the small and medium level fighters.

Every fighter gets different cuts whether they deserve them or not.

Example, I'm sure Conor got a bigger cut from his ppvs (and would have with 200) than anybody else. I'm sure Rousey and Jones get big cuts too, and I'm sure Chael got a bigger cut than Silva did in their ppvs

I'm pretty sure the figures at the start of the thread were from that Couture court case you're referring to... but I didn't actually copy the court doc.

Good find on the Alvarez deal... I didn't realize he waz drawing PPV points... though a max of 2.5/buy is relatively low... it still got 7 figure potential. You gotta know that Conor & Ronda & a few otherz are getting a much bigger piece of the pie than that.

When Mac & Aldo's July fight waz still on... I heard that Mac would get $7/buy at the Million point. $5/buy at the low end. (but that's just what someone reported) That's on top of $500,000 to show & $250,000 to win.
