Chael Sonnen recently weighed in on Conor McGregor's situation with the UFC, and the MMA fighter-turned-analyst has put John Kavanagh on blast for not showing solidarity. According to the former title contender, once McGregor put out his definitive stance, his coach ruined it by releasing somewhat contradicting statements after.

"His coach cannot be putting anything out about him ever. Period. Ever. Because he doesn't get it!" Sonnen said. "Respectfully, coach Kavanagh, You don't get it. You don't get it! Your student does. He gets it. Conor knows what's going on."

"Every time you talk and think you're helping him, you're not. You're hurting the cause. You have to stop!"

Sonnen then referenced a tweet made by McGregor shortly after the hold out with the UFC started.

"Conor cannot put a post saying 'money made, bills paid, game slayed. Your move,' which means 'I do not care what happens, I'm handled either way. It's your move.'" he said. "He can't do that and three days later have you come out saying hey fans, please petition and get him back."

"You can't do it! It's never good for a trainer or manager to do this. Whether it comes from a good place or not, you look like you're trying to get paid," he said. "If one guy is sitting there, and the whole hand he's playing is 'I got enough, I don't need to do it. Won the title, got the money, don't care, having a great life.' If he's playing that, that's a pretty good hand! But you can't show cracks in it."

"You're talking about UFC 200, UFC New York, and why we're blacklisted. Wait a minute, I thought the game was slayed, the bills were paid, and the money was made? That was their move! Now you're begging to get on a card??"

As Sonnen mentioned, Kavanagh's follow up statements had him asking fans to tweet about it, talking about still training twice a day for UFC 200, and being upset about potentially not being on the New York card.

"You guys have got to get on the same page," Sonnen continued. "You want to hustle some hustlers, you better believe you've got to be on the same page! You can't have one guy say I don't give a damn, and have his trainer say 'boy, we sure would like to fight, can someone send some tweets in our favor?' It doesn't work!"

"Once there's a crack, it's unraveled, and the gig is up! You want to fight. You need the fight. The bills are not paid, the money is not made, and the game damn sure hasn't been slayed," he said. "That's the reality. We all knew that, and it was cool when it came out, but your own guy outed you."

Sonnen still salty over Conor's 'Chael's a has-been' remark.

I don't know, his rant seemed pretty pro Conor

There is no denying kav fucked things up . After the retired tweet, he had to go on Twitter and try and make jokes cause he thinks he's funny, but all he did was fuel conspiracy theories that were ultimately shining Conor in a poor light

Sonnen is kind of a pathetic character these days. Everything he comes out with just seems like desperate click bait. I guess he's trying hard to scratch out a living as an mma analyst but other former fighters/mma personalities seem to be doing alright without resorting to the same kinds of bullshit.

Uncle Chael knows whats up.

He might be full of shit but the man knows how to hustle and play the game.

Personally, I cannot stand people on either radio or podcasts who feel the need to sound like they're always shouting. Drives me nuts.

You have a high quality mic right in front of your pie hole, bro. Use your fucking inside voice.

To me it reveals an insecurity in the entertainment value of the words these high-decibel types are actually speaking. Like, "If I talk like I'm yelling it will give the impression that what I'm saying is both exciting and of utmost importance. The listener will assume it is something that should be of great interest to them and that they need to key in on."

End rant.

It's also possible that Conor wanted his coach to speak for him only so he, himself, could save face. Only Conor and coach know that.....Don't think Conor scolded him for it, did he?

Tiger Woods use to love when Steve Williams, his cadddy, would curse at rowdy fans and basically speak for him because Tiger had a public reputation to maintain.

He just likes stirring people up. A real life troll.

Sonnen is onto something but my opinion is Conor is the draw and the prestige of the UFC is pretty much overstated. Conors options are simple

1. Fight out the remaining fights on contract and announce next step on live UFC airtime.
2. In court settlement/Out court settlement and part ways.

Either way Conors prerogative is his brand and not Zuffa's and if that's not at the forefront of his mind then he's doing himself no favours and Zuffa will be much luckier than they ought to be because this rockstar needs to go solo.

Everyone knew Conor was full of shit with the "your move" tweet anyway. All Joke Kav did was confirm it.

Is there anything worse than a company man that's not even with the company anymore?

Well, Chael does have a big point there. He basically sums up what's going on with conor's coach and conor against the UFC. They seem desperate for a fight now when they were like we're good, you ain't nothing without us. LOLLOLOLOL.

Nothing he said was wrong. So the ones calling Sonnen names, and such, should really read the quotes before claiming he is a "hater" or "irrelevant"..
