Percentage of UFC-fighters making enough $ to retire?

So if you have to make a guess, what percentage of UFC fighters can have a MMA career that will make them enough money to retire and have a comfortable life after that?

Without a doubt at least half the fighters don't even have that luxury DURING their career (fighting 3 time a year for 24k per fight does not make you rich AT ALL, you could even call them poor), and even those making around 100k per year should not be considered rich. When all costs are substracted most of them will just have an average income.

MMA seems to be one of the least attractive pro sport careers as far as money goes, only the top fighters seem to make decent money, with some of then making REALLY good money... but those are just a few out of thousands en thousands of fighters.

Obviously the most money goes to Zuffa, they are settled for the rest of their lives.

So what percentage of fighters is making enough money to retire rich for the rest of their lives?

Even if you can't stop working after you are done fighting, you can open gyms and use your name to guarantee you make easy money for the rest of your life. As far as guys getting the millions, really only long term champs can get that. Robbie probably has enough to walk away right now (gets $500,000 to fight and has many endorsements), Conor obviously, Ronda, Jones, and if Werdum wins a few more times then probably him too. Lighter weight class guys are screwed.

I think the vast majority of them will have to continue working after they leave the cage. Even someone who makes 100k/fight is not rich. You can fight 3 times/year for that amount but you still have to pay for training camps, taxes, etc. Its good money to live comfortably for the time being, but not enough money to retire at 40 and never work again. They need to be smart by saving and investing.

So to answer your question TS, I can't. I don't know how many UFC fighters there are.
