This must have been discussed a million times, so apologies, but I really have not seen it (please do send me the link, if you can be bothered; I would be very grateful): what happens if Conor wins and then gets injured? Will he be allowed to hold two weight classes on hold, and how much time would he be awarded to regain his belts after his return? And would they expect him to defend his lighter weight belt first? Or would that — Dana style — simply be decided by whichever challenger potentially sells the most tickets?

I don't think UFC championships matter anymore. They're more a promotional tool than anything now days. If he gets injured he keeps both belts and the UFC makes two interim champions which just makes promotion that much better with champion vs. champion fights down the line.
