Victim fought back and bit her assailant
Rapist left clear marks of manual strangulation on the victim's neck
Rapist left forensic evidence that would be 'damning' in a prosecution

3rd Update 12/14

Sports star and members of his entourage have been accused of assaulting women before but no charges ever filed

Woman may not give statement in current case which would prevent charges from being filed

Cops will continue to investigate and also revisit previous cases

Authors note: Basically the cops are saying this has happened before with this individual but the victims declined to give statements which prevented formal charges from being filed. Clearly this famous Irish sports star/celebrity has a history of rape or sexual assault and has been paying off his victims.

4th Update 12/16:

Victim was friends with attacker's relatives, knew her attacker.

Victim is frightened for her life as attacker is "linked with people who are dangerous"

Cops continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses

Victim has still not given statement

Cops may soon speak with alleged attacker and his lawyer

Cops say the alleged attacker and his entourage are known to have been involved in previous alleged attacks on women but that this case is a serious escalation as the victim was badly beaten

Cops have hotel footage of the both alleged attacker and victim arriving and leaving including "certain interactions"

One other note: It has been reported by the Irish press that the victim HAS made an official statement to the police and the case has been sent to the prosecutor for a decision to try the case or not. I missed this news earlier and I believe it was reported in the Irish Times but don't have the link as of right now.
