They surrounded him with the worst group possible imo. Lebron needs shooters around him to open up the lane and the Lakers don't have that. They will battle for one of the last few spots. That's it barring some major moves by the deadline

The blueprint to beat the warriors is simple.

1- Have two iso dominate guys
2- spam pick and roll
3- Get steph on one of your iso guys and attack him
4- Hold steph all game long and dare the pussy ass refs to do their jobs


This used to work well but then they got KD and Curry became a dominate shut down defender.
 
Kiwi isn't staying on the Raptors after what they just did to their franchise player. That loyalty contract the Lakers paid to Kobe, after everybody was calling to amnesty him, is paying dividends. Don't think the rest of the league didn't notice. Emar left money on the table and this is how they reward him? Stick a fork in this "franch". If they leave Lowry and Ibaka expire the year after. Its easy full blown rebuild with lots of quality youth on cheap contracts. He swinging for the fences before that happens.

To play devils advocate, it could back fire. They could wind up holding Kawhi for the full season and only getting cap space for their most accomplished player in franchise history and currently their best player in Derozan as well as a recent draftee Jacob Poetl(Pick #9) when they could have played it safe and just dealt Derozan for assets to start the rebuild.
 
If they are smart they will shop him asap to both LA teams and get some youngens and picks for him.

5. Have Chris Paul get hurt
6. Have refs stop calling fouls in the 2nd half of game 6 and 7 to the point where players around the league were even tweeting about it

Then Atlanta buys out Melo and he heads to Houston. Houston is trying to trade Canderson to Sac in a deal that would cost them probably two first round picks but give them a 20 mil trade exception which would be huge at the teade deadline
