Before there was an MLS, what was the CONCACAF champions league even like?

The Scotiabank Champions League started in the year 1962.

The past and present of the Champions League is definitely Liga México.

Most likely, the future of the Champions League is also Liga México.

Remember, the MLS is brand-new. MLS started in 1996.

Before the MLS started, the Champions League was dominated by Liga México (obviously), Primera División de Costa Rica (First Division of Costa Rica), and La Primera (First Division of El Salvador).

After the MLS started, the only winners of the Champions League have been clubs from Liga México, Primera División de Costa Rica, and MLS.

The very first champion of the Scotiabank Champions League was Club Deportivo Guadalajara.

So far, Club Guadalajara have only one Champions League title but they almost always compete well against all of the clubs from both North America and South America.

Deportivo Saprissa (a club in Costa Rica) have won three Champions League titles.

Pachuca CF win the series 4-3 against Football Club Dallas.

This series was ultra competitive and exciting. Most likely, Pachuca CF are glad that they were able to eliminate such a spirited and feisty club like FC Dallas.

As for Football Club Dallas, they will regret not being able to stop Pachuca's final goal which was in the 92nd minute.

Pachuca CF advance to the Finals of the Champions League.

Club Tigres UANL win the series 4-1 against Vancouver Whitecaps.

After two matches, there is no doubt that Club Tigres UANL are superior to Vancouver Whitecaps (this year).

It seems that Vancouver Whitecaps succumbed to the immense pressure that was on their shoulders. Then again, how much pressure could there have been if almost the entire universe predicted that Club Tigres UANL would obliterate them? Even if no one thought that Club Tigres UANL would annihilate Vancouver Whitecaps, almost everyone thought that Club Tigres UANL would find a way to win this series (and they did).
