It's time to end the salary capCan't keep everybody. If you pay every player $5 million you'll only have 33 players. That doesn't count the players who make over that. With a $167 million cap and 53 players, $3.15 million would be the average. Every player that gets more than that means another has to get that much less. The players getting more than $6.3 million means more than one player has to get much less. Teams are forced to have many rookies as their minimum salaries are less. $465,000

A salary cap is antiquated, when a guy like Aaron deserves 20 million a yearYeah right. It would be like baseball. A couple of teams would have all of the good players.
How about a system where the teams draft and trade players and the NFL actually pays them according to their performance. Have the players union develop criteria or a voting system to rate players and they get paid by rank out of the revenue pool. It would put the emphasis on evaluating talent and allow teams to keep the players they draft.
