I think Dake's best weight is actually 74kg. I doubt he is cutting much for 79.
Pretty amazing performance by Dake at the Rio trials huh? Cox was coming down from 197 and Dake coming up all the way from 163.
I think he will have just a bit more left in the tank than Burroughs come 2020. He will finally get his gold medal and retire.
I can see Jordan, IMar, Dake, Ringer and Hall at 74 while Zahid, Bo Nickal, Taylor and J'Den are up at 86... I might just have to go to that with that kind of fire power in the line up! I don't know who to pick. I have to admit, chubby Kyle at 86 was a site to see, I thought he was going to get ruined at Trials, wow what a performance.
The new(er) blood at 86 is very interesting. Obviously Herbert is done, Ruth is done, Deron Winn is most likely done or at least will be come 2020. Hes only still wrestling bc he is having such a hard time getting MMA fights.
I don't see Jordan continuing on the senior level. The family plus he never really quite lived up to his billing in college so I think he'll call it a career and coach or otherwise get another job.
For the Oly weights in 2020, I think it's a 4 headed monster at 74 between Burroughs, Dake, Ringer, and Hall (ranked in order imo) and 86 is is between Taylor and Cox. I don't see anyone else getting that much better to compete with this group.
If anyone has a flo pro account they just released a cool little series by Royce Alger (who I want to drink with and hear some of his legendary stories) on hand fighting tricks old school Iowa style, old school Iowa that actually scored points lol
NCAA brackets released later today
Alger was pretty good in the Terry Documentary too. I signed up for Flo to watch the Cary kolat, Terry Brands, Yarygin, etc but I felt they took too long to put out new stuff so I canceled. I loved what I saw though.
Lee and Nato in the same half with Cruz and Suriano in the other. I'm kind of disappointed by that.
Im disappointed that i dont see Kevin beazley from Michigan in the 197lb bracket. Am i blind or something?
I thought he was an automatic qualifier
Opens against top seeded Cruz, not a good draw
Even though he isn't really as good as expected this year compared to his HS career, Anthony Valencia is stil compatible of upsetting #2 seed David Mcfadden VTech second round.
Could see some interesting quarterfinal matches
125: Cruz vs Lizak (Finals rematch)
All of 141 if the seeds hold
Nolf vs Kremerer at 157 in quarters would be ridiculous
Edit: Micic vs DeSanto too. DeSanto beat him up early in the year, 22-10
Refresh my memory, why was he an automatic qualifier again?
4th at Big Tens, which should of had 6 automatic qualifiers at 197
And if you go to Flowrestling.com and scroll the articles theres one from March 4th called 2018 NCAA tournament automatic qualifier Hub which lists him as an automatic qualifier
When did Jordan Oliver move to Cornell?
You could not get a better dude to train with Yianni full time
For sure, 141 is gonna be crazy
Possible Yianni/Heil quarterfinal
He's another guy I'm excited to see competing at Seniors.
MI pulled him out, head injury.
