2 time olympic wrestler says Cro Cop is the strongest guy he ever wrestled with...

I'm a Cro Cop fan, but I find it hard to believe that his non-UFC days were legit, all natural strength days. We'll just say he fought most of his career at a time when testing wasn't even "Loosey Goosey".

Not trying to be a dick, this dude has a very impressive resume, but whoever said he was anything like Karelin is way off.
Probably quoted by some other overly patriotic croatian...

I know Crocop has trained with Igor Pokrajac for ever and Igor was world level for a while. He also trained with Fabricio Werdum and Brazilian TD specialist Rodrigo Artilherio, but Id love to know who else Crcop trained wrestling with. His record against wrestlers is stellar
Alex E.
Randleman
Coleman
Fujita
Yoshida
Nagata
Sakuraba
Herring
Del Rio (Dos Caras Jr.)
Ron Waterman
Ibragim Magomedov
Barnett
al-Turk
Gonzaga
King Mo
Amir Aliakbari
Ishi
Are all extremely high level wrestlers who Crocop defeated.

Did you see how yoked he was against King Mo. He's clearly back on the sauce.

Some of those guys aren't even wrestlers, others fight a division below, and others are outright cans.

This is why I think Cro Cop would beat any version of DC.
Liked, but not sure I agree. I guess it would depend on ring vs cage and rule set. I’d like to see if DC could cut him off and get Mirko off his bike

Is almost like Fedor was a great athlete, heavier than him, with much more grappling experience and legit elite Judo credentials
I don't think any weight advantage existed or if it did it was a small one that wasn't a huge factor. Fedor and Cro Cop both were around 225-230

Cropcop had a lot of success with his spiral TDD back in Pride. He really change the game with his sprawl and brawl...only he was never a brawler. He was a pinpoint technical striker who aims primarily at the eye sockets

Stipe Damjanovic

He was called Croatian Karelin for not losing a single match in national league and was a 2 time olympian...

He says that wrestlers are the strongest people in the world and that he wrestled with a lot of world champions and olympic champions but Mirko was the strongest guy he ever felt.....says he at the beginnig didint know anything about wrestling but CC picked it up extremly fast.......he calls him phenomena...

you could tell Crocop was strong the guy never wrestled in his life but he was stuffing top level wrestlers and sprawling on them and they had trouble getting him down many times.

He was called "Karelin" by his croatian friends is my guess. And I never heard of any significance of a croatian wrestling national league. So even as a longtime Crocop fan I dont take that statement serious at all. I dont remember croatian wrestling having any relevant impact in europe. If he would have been any good he would have fought in a better paying professional wrestling league.

Yugoslavia back then was strong sure and Serbia also has some good wrestlers nowadays but Croatia?
